Handmade in Montana

Howdy Howdy all! Thank you for visiting Rivers and Ears website!

I am a Montanan born and raised and for over twenty years Ive been an avid backcountry elk hunter, bird hunter, and Fly fisherman. I spend majority of my time outdoors exploring, hunting, and fly fishing Montana's majestic landscapes.

There are many game bird species in Montana, but the Ringneck Pheasant is my all time favorite bird to go after and or simply observe. A pheasants color scheme is unmatched; they are spry, wickedly wise, quirky, and make quite a ruckus and cackle when they take off.

One interesting thing I have found through making earrings with pheasant feathers is that no feather is EXACTLY the same. Each pheasant feather look similar but when you look at the individual spots, dots, ect. Each birds design is unique. Kinda like a fingerprint!

The reason I choose pheasant and other Game bird Feathers is because they hold up to wear and weather. They are much more durable than most domestic bird feathers. These birds are resilient and boast a hardiness that I have learned to idolize and admire. I have nothing but respect for game and game birds alike. when I was young my father taught me to utilize the entire animal and not doing so is disrespectful to them. Nothing goes to waist. Making these earrings is my way of showing respect for the animal.

Each pair of earrings are one-of-a-kind and crafted entirely by hand in Bozeman,Montana. Made from sustainably-sourced, durable, and colorful wild game bird feathers. Utilizing unique fly tying techniques, bead schemes, and resin castings. These earrings will add a unique, colorfully bold outdoor style to your everyday any situation earring selection.
